What You Need:
- 1 Zipper (ours was 18", but play around with whatever size you have on hand!)
- Glue Gun
- Chain or Cord
First, unzip your zipper so it is in two pieces. Then start to roll the first half of your zipper into a cone so that the rows of zipper teeth lie as close together as possible. Add dabs of hot glue as you wind it around.
Do the same with the second zipper half. Now you should have two cones.
Take your two cones and fit the fabric base of one inside the other And secure them with more hot glue. Now you have an awesome bead that ready to become a fabulous necklace! Simply thread it onto the chain or cord of your choice
Because our zipper bead was going to come out quite large, we weren't sure we'd be able to guide our cord through the bead to string it. We decided to thread the two cones onto our cord separately, then glue them together to make one bead. See what works better for you!
And now you are ready to show the world your fantastic new necklace! It's fun, different, and CUTE!

Brilliant idea. I reckon that you could make a vertical variation too and wrap the fabric part for a different look as well!
ReplyDeleteLove this idea and my mind is racing with ideas to use the bead other than a necklace. Thank you for sharing.
