Coconut & Lavender Body Scrub

Yesterday morning I looked down at my legs and was horrified to see that they were dry and actually peeling! Yeah, gross I know! It looked like they had battled with with summer and lost. Time to show them some love and I knew that the best way to do that was with a homemade sugar scrub. We've made some before, but I wanted to try one using coconut oil. It is so good for you that I knew it would help my poor, neglected legs. I thought another good scent to add would be lavender, since it is so soothing.  And after it was made it was clear I had found a winning combination!

What You Need:
  • 1 cup sugar, divided
  • 1/2 cup coconut oil
  • lavender oil
  • small bowl for mixing
  • air-tight container
First, scoop your coconut oil into a bowl.

Add a 1/2 cup of sugar and mix very well. Then add the remaining 1/2 cup and mix some more until thoroughly combined.

Then add a few drops of lavender oil. Add a little at a time, since you can always add more. I added about 4 or 5 and I think I'll actually add a little more. But it's up to you.

Mix it up and store in an airtight container! The coconut oil gives it a thick, buttery consistency and the smell in combination with the lavender is so soothing! It feels so luscious! And my legs (and arms and the rest of my body!) are no longer dry and sad but moisturized, soft, and happy!

  1. Would you just put this on like lotion

  2. Nope! I suppose I should have mentioned that.... :) Just rub it on in the shower then rinse off with warm water. 24 hours later my skin STILL feels soft and lovely! I love coconut oil!

  3. this sounds heavenly! I've made the brown sugar scrub befre & it turned out great, I'll have to give this one a try!

  4. How long does this keep in an airtight container?

  5. Where do you buy coconut oil? Thanks!
